What we really know is that the Universe is our future.
What too few of us can face is that our current efforts
to make this future a reality are timid and uninspired.
The forces of cynicism and stupidity have already robbed our generation
of immortality by wasting precious time on war and superstition. 

We, among the last of the mortal generations, can ennoble our lives
by the total commitment of ourselves and our children to
the great moral imperatives of our race:
curing death and populating the universe. 
To do less is to render us contemptible.
